50 Days, 50 Moments #CountdownToRio _ Mexico City, 1968: USA long-jumper #BobBeamon leaps into the history books with his jump of 29 feet, 2½ inches (8.9 meters), winning the #gold medal and setting a new world record. It was the first jump over 28 ft and on of the most famous #Olympics feats ever.
